How do you define a nerd? When meeting someone new what might cause you to think the person is a nerd?

A nerd, to us anyway, is someone who is obsessively passionate about the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres of the creative arts. It may be in the mediums of film, books, music, technology, etc. It is a compliment, in the highest sense, but we aren’t not afraid of laughing at ourselves (as we are “nerds,” also). Nerds are the experts.
